QUINTREX HORNETS

Added 16th Oct 2007

2 October 2007 Quintrex hornets…an aluminium boat designed for fishy business

Unique to Quintrex and built for serious anglers, Quintrex’s new 2008 hornet range of aluminium boats includes exciting new features and a new innovative transom design.

Built on Quintrex’s highly acclaimed Eclipse V-Flared Hull, seven models make up the hornet range, including trophy models decked out with everything a serious angler could want.

Quintrex National Sales and Marketing Manager Damien Duncan said hornets deliver the ultimate in enclosed water performance.

“The Eclipse V-Flared Hull featured on these models will have you gliding over water at high speeds,” Damien said.

“This is made possible through the hull’s bottom flare that extends through to the transom, creating a fine leading edge to carve through water.

“The aerodynamic design of the hull also traps air under the hull to allow it to skim over the water’s surface with ease while also remaining extremely stable at rest. This stability allows two people to fish in comfort, even on the smallest model,” he said.

The new M3 transom is now also featured on podded hornet models introducing more usable space, a soft-touch deck grip and the ability for anglers to get right down the back of their Quintrex.

New 2008 features showcased on the hornet models include piano hinges on the casting platform (435 models and larger), increased internal cockpit space and the new 2008 deluxe sports side console. All podded models also feature the new Johnson auto bilge pump.

The smallest in the range, the 400 Hornet Wide Body, is the perfect model to get started in and comes standard with an anchor gusset, low carpeted floor, front casting platform, front deck and gunnel lip, fuel tank rack, two transom handles, set of rowlock blocks, solid corners and a transducer bracket.

The largest model, the 500 Hornet Trophy is on every keen angler’s ‘most wanted list’ and is designed as a hard core fishing platform with a long list of standard features.

This long list includes an accessory kit, alloy cleat on front deck, moulded anchorwell, auto bilge pump, casting platform dry storage, front and rear casting platforms, fold down drink holders, Lowrance sounder, 60L fuel tank, painted hull with stripes, piano hinges, rear casting platform, splashwell, two rod holders, four seat positions, two skipper seats, transducer bracket and the 2008 deluxe sports side console.

If you’re a competitive angler, the Tournament upgrade on the 500 Hornet Trophy is a must and includes strong 4mm bottom sides and top sides and the ability to upgrade to a swift 115 horsepower outboard motor.

There is a wide range of options available across the different models including two-tone paint and a bimini and envelope for sun protection to name only a few.

All Quintrex hornets come as ‘Instant Boating’ packages and include boat, Mariner outboard motor, Quintrex trailer, three year limited warranty, safety equipment, boat and trailer registration.

You can get into the entry level 400 Hornet Wide Body for a competitive $8,808 while the top of the range 500 Hornet Trophy starts at $28,184 (both prices exclude dealer delivery charges).
