Haines Hunter Melbourne has grown a fair bit since they first opened their doors as the R & D facility of the legendary boat building Company.
Since that time Haines Hunter Melbourne have taken the reigns as the Company’s Head Office and become a hub for new ideas and decision making.
All of their hard work was recognised earlier this month with the Company being awarded the “Mayors Award” in the Wyndham Business Excellence Awards.
The judges looked at various areas when assessing the nominations including, impact on the local economy, customer service, environmental issues, occupational health and safety issues, quality control processes, and key strengths.
Managing Director, John Haber said of the win “…when the entire team works so tirelessly and remains dedicated to the Marine Industry as a whole, it’s a credit to everybody within our organisation when we are recognised this way... “.
This win is the latest in a host of awards presented to the Company in recent years.
In 2003 Haines Hunter won Fishing Boat of the Year with the 650 Prowler in the Modern Boating Powerboat of the Year Award’s.
The 500 Carnival, which was fully designed in Melbourne and is solely built in Melbourne, won the Award for Excellence in the Dayboat Category of the AMIF Australian Marine Awards.
In 2004 Haines Hunter were been presented with a Commendation Award for the V17 Legend in the Dayboat Category of the AMIF Australian Marine Awards, another boat which was fully researched and developed in Melbourne and is also now in full production solely in Melbourne.
They were also nominated by the BIA VIC for The Certificate of Manufacturing Excellence in Victoria and won the Boat Manufacturer of the Year Award, part of the Victorian Marine Awards.So far this year Haines Hunter have won a Commendation award in the Trailerable Fishing Category of the 2005 AMIF Australian Marine Awards for the 650 Classic.
And again with the 650 Classic they won Fishing Boat of the Year in the Modern Boating Powerboat of the Year Awards. This is yet another boat to be fully researched and developed at their Hoppers Crossing facility.
Still to be announced this year, Haines Hunter are nominated in two categories of the Victorian Marine Industry Awards including “Boat Manufacturer of the Year”.
Haines Hunter has experienced growth throughout their entire organisation. The Melbourne plant has increased production to six of the Companies thirty-four models, which includes the soon to be released 600 Classic.
