Haines Hunter 490 Prostrike

The 490 ProStrike is one of the latest models to be released by Haines Hunter.

Haines Hunter wanted to develop a range of Barra, Bass and Bream Tournament Fishing Boats to complement their existing range, but they wanted to do it right.

This boat has been built by a panel of fishing celebrities and enthusiasts, including the Shimano fishing team; sporting and TV celebrity and host of Escape with ET, Andrew Ettinghausen; and all round rod-building and fishing guru Ian “Barra” Miller.

The panel were given a free hand to design the ultimate Barra, Bass & Bream fishing boat. They monitored the entire project and the first boat in the ProStrike range, the 490, really is everything you could want from a tournament fishing boat.

In the short time since the ProStrike’s release there’s been so much buzz surrounding it.

Perhaps it’s because it’s the first boat in the Company’s 45 year history designed for this type of fishing in both fresh and saltwater. Perhaps it’s because of the finishing touches that really set this boat apart from others available on the market. Either way, the ProStrike’s reputation certainly precedes it.

It’s absolutely striking in design, but it’s the attention to detail that really sets this boat apart from the others. With a list of standard equipment that leaves little to be added for most keen fishos, including:

Firstly it’s a stable fishing platform, three big guys standing on one side can’t tip it. However, it’s not just one for the fishos. Rated to 150 in both 2 and 4 stroke engines, it performs just like a sports boat. So if the fish aren’t biting there’s a ski pole and ski tower as options, which wouldn’t look out of place on this sporty looking boat.

Packages start at around $34,000 and it really is a cut above anything else available in it’s class.
